Generally speaking, units in low-rise developments are more affordable than units in high-rise developments, which typically come with higher construction costs and a premium fee for expansive views.

People who live and work in Vancouver are in great need of affordable, livable housing. While many people may believe supply is the answer to affordability, research has indicated otherwise. Consider the amount of supply added to Vancouver over the past 20 years and the fact that prices have gone up substantially and continuously.

There is an opportunity in this development to provide affordable units, through the encouragement and support of co-ops, co-housing and other forms of affordable home-making. This may only be realized through acts of government with progressive policy changes, such as a higher percentage of social housing than is typically included in a development of this kind.
