Jericho Lands, Vancouver and British Columbia can be the centre of an innovative new industry led by Indigenous Governments. Following the principles of stewardship and forest management, Indigenous Peoples could co-develop an industry that produces mass timber building materials as well as the production of modular and/or prefabricated building units for Jericho Lands and many other projects. This could be an additive element to stimulate the existing forest industry, generating a second revenue stream for Indigenous Peoples on top of revenue from the Jericho Lands development.

The worldwide market for low-carbon construction techniques and components will grow substantially over the coming decades. Indigenous Peoples could spearhead the growth of this new forest industry sector through the development of the Jericho Lands, and could become world leaders in these lucrative and exciting new technologies.
